Shawnees Looking on the Ohio

As my dad, Willie, and myself walked along this afternoon and just spent time together, we arrived at Fort Boreman Hill in Parkersburg.

Here are my Dad and my closest friend, both fellow Shawnees from the Eagle clan looking down upon the Pelewa theepi (Ohio River).

The river was called La Belle Riviere by the french. Even on an overcast day like today it still reflects some of that beauty.

It's almost like they are looking into the past as they look down the river. My family has come to this river to sit, reflect, and pray for generations.

It truly is a beautiful river.
