After my mom's first dose of chemotherapy, I went down to my favorite place in parkersburg with two of my uncles. Uncle Bill and Uncle Kenny. Kenny just survived aggressive treatment for bone cancer, and my uncle Bill just came out of treatment for colon cancer.
We watched the sun set over the Ohio River this evening, and I can't help but think this is something that our family and other shawnee people have done for many many generations.
As I sat there with them, I was filled with hope. It was good to spend time with family, and it was also good to see people who were so close who are cancer survivors.
Things are going to be alright. Mom is going to be part of this legacy of survivors. It's one thing that Indian people do well--survive.
Its also something that followers of Jesus do well, we survive.
Thanks again for praying.

Your mom and the rest of your family will be in my prayers, Billy. It's good that your family is able to rest in the fact that our God is sovereign!
Hang in there man. Your mom will have a long struggle which is only just beginning. Keep her encouraged. That's half the battle. The chemo will eventually make her pretty sick which can lead to poor spirits. God be with you all. You're in my prayers.
Pam
Praying for you and your family. We love you so much Billy. I'm sure you are a huge support and source of joy for your Mother. May you be a blessing to your family in this difficult time. Let us know if we can do anything else to help. Philippians 4:4-7
